Amazon Prime Video s
The Expanse may be coming to an end after its upcoming season 6, but fortunately, we still have the ongoing season 5 to contemplate upon before worrying about that. The plot of
The Expanse has been, well,
expansive from the very beginning, but the fifth season pulls out all the stops by separating the core characters to lead their own stories. As is the show s custom, the season also introduces the fans to a number of cool, new characters. One of the more visually striking newcomers of the season is the Belter called Cyn, a crafty Outer Planets Alliance operative who knows both Naomi Nagata (Dominique Tipper) and her ex-lover, the extremist Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander).

Amazon s
The Expanse has seen a fair share of drama, both onscreen and off. The critically acclaimed sci-fi adaptation has a massive, dedicated fan base that mobilized to save the show from cancellation at Syfy in 2018, leading Amazon to resurrect
The Expanse at the end of Season 3. The show was eventually renewed for three more seasons, including the recently announced sixth and final season, a bittersweet reveal that came ahead of the Season 5 premiere on December 16th.
Ahead of
The Expanse s Season 5 debut, CinemaBlend chatted virtually chatted (as is fitting for the show) with the cast about what they re most excited for fans to see from the long-awaited new episodes. Steven Strait, who plays Rocinante captain James Holden had this to say about the upcoming season:

“The Expanse” is a peculiar show, insofar as some level of initial trickery is usually required to convince people to give it a try. One demographic of friends typically get hit with, “It’s the only show to depict gravity and space physics correctly!”
Another generally more successful hook usually goes along the lines of, “It’s like ‘Game of Thrones’ in space!” Of course, given the general downward trajectory of “Thrones” after its fourth season, compounded by its divisive conclusion, it’s an angle now apt to do more harm than good.
