Lessening restrictions in the district brought up
DARLINGTON – The Darlington Community School District’s Board of Education discussed the possibility of loosening the restrictions in both buildings.
Lafayette County Health Director Julie Leibfried spoke with the board and answered some questions brought forth by superintendent Cale Jackson.
She began by telling the board that all of their teachers who wanted to be vaccinated were on Thursday, March 4, along with every district in Lafayette County, which did take place.
Jackson asked if students still need to wear masks when they go outside at recess.
Leibfried stated they do as long as the students are coming within six feet of each other for more than 15 minutes.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, Bellator MMA hosted its 131st event from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.
In the night’s main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz clashed with fellow UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar. Ortiz made his promotional debut at Bellator 120 in May and scored a submission win over former middleweight title holder Alexander Shlemenko. It marked Ortiz’s second win in his last 10 fights. Bonnar, meanwhile, had been out of action for more than two years. The 37-year-old was last in action at UFC 153, where he succumbed to a first-round TKO against Anderson Silva.
Most fighters who compete under the GLORY banner have fought in kickboxing or Muay Thai for a significant part of their lives.
Not Colorado’s Dustin Jacoby.
The middleweight is a natural athlete that played college football and found himself competing in the UFC at just 23 years old. Four years later, the Factory X Muay Thai product finds himself as a top-five ranked kickboxer.

Jacoby has faced a gauntlet of fighters in his 12-fight kickboxing career, with all 12 bouts taking place in the GLORY ring. None of his opponents have been tougher than his GLORY 24 foe, Wayne Barrett, who he faced in the co-main event on Oct. 9 in his own backyard of Denver. Jacoby earned the biggest win of his career, as he became the first man to stop Barrett when he scored a third-round TKO.
