Randy Smith: Fool Me Once - Chattanoogan com

Randy Smith: Fool Me Once Friday, May 7, 2021 - by Randy Smith Randy Smith Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.   That s an expression we ve all heard at one time or another. Tennessee football fans are among the many people who have been fooled more than once by the promising hire of a new head football coach, only to wallow in the pain and agony of one unsuccessful season after another. That s why I am so skeptical of the Vols hiring of Josh Heupel.  I have no problem at all with Heupel personally. In fact when he was hired, I had no real preference as to whom Tennessee would hire to replace Jeremy Pruitt.

The Steelers have found this year s James Pierre in Shakur Brown

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports The 2020 undrafted free agent signings for the Steelers seemed as if it would be yet another weak year of signings for the team. However, others here at BTSC told me to keep an eye on this guy named James Pierre, a player who had not impressed me during the pre-draft process. I had snubbed him from my top 300 rankings and assumed that he would be released before the season began. Looking at it one year later, I could not have been more wrong. Pierre’s playing time increased as the season progressed and players got injured, and by season’s end, he had seemed to have passed Justin Layne, a player that I was very high on coming out of college, on the depth chart. With Mike Hilton signing with Cincinnati and the Steelers choosing to release Steven Nelson, Pierre seems to be the leader in the clubhouse for the number three cornerback job.

REPORT: Cade McNamara Is The Clear Frontrunner To Be Michigan s Starting Quarterback

Michigan quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss said the following during an episode of the  “In the Trenches” podcast, according to the same report: He’s a guy who’s gonna end up playing 10 years in the NFL because you can say he’s not enough of this, enough of that. But at the end of the day, he’s very smart, he makes great decisions, he processes things very fast and his accuracy and arm strength are more than enough to win with. As much as it pains me to say, McNamara isn’t a bad player at all. In fact, he looked very solid at times last season.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh dialed back any pressure put on the four-star running back from West Bloomfield this week, telling the “In the Trenches” podcast that the plan in 2021 is to give a majority of the carries to two, more experienced players in the backfield.
