Mike/Wes, I assume I am the only Packers fan reading the Inbox who is old enough to have actually seen Bobby Dillon play. Not only that, but to have seen Ray Nitschke play fullback for Illinois back in the day when starters played both D and offense. Heck, some college teams were still playing single wing and the tailback was today s running QB that everyone is excited about. The more things change … Cheers.
I wonder who would have gotten the better of a collision between Nitschke the fullback and Nitschke the linebacker.

GREEN BAY, Wis. If Aaron Rodgers is as dug in as it sounds and dead set on never playing for the Green Bay Packers again, then nothing the team could have done in this past weekend’s NFL draft would change that.
But if Rodgers were willing to consider it, the draft at least took a step toward giving Rodgers another Super Bowl shot with this team if he is willing to take it.
A team that already brought back its core from the group that had back-to-back 13-3 seasons, both of which ended in the NFC Championship Game, made some additions in the draft that could provide an immediate impact. To be sure, a draft is designed to pay dividends over several years and not necessarily help right away especially when it begins with the 29th overall pick but consider the ways it could help immediately in Green Bay.

Few NBA players facing Jordan escaped his aerial assault. MJ in his prime was a problem, and his prime was most of the 80s and 90s. Look at the range on these dunks! From ’84-’97, Mike was doing the same damn thing.

My take: Should it really be any surprise that the Packers went defense in the first round? This is the ninth time in their last 10 first-round picks they’ve addressed that side of the ball, with the lone offensive player being quarterback Jordan Love last year. Brian Gutekunst took a cornerback, Jaire Alexander, with his first pick as GM in 2018. Also, the last two times the Packers changed defensive coordinators, they gave him a first-round player or players. In 2009, Dom Capers got two first-rounders B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews. Mike Pettine got Alexander in 2018 and now Joe Barry gets Stokes. The pick says Pettine wasn’t the only problem with the Packers’ defense last year.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The NFL Draft is almost here. The Green Bay Packers own the 29th pick of the first round. Here are five possibilities, with the help of four NFL scouts.
Oklahoma State OT Teven Jenkins: While one source said “the recent intel” is that Jenkins would be gone somewhere between No. 18 and No. 23, three others believed Jenkins would fall into range. He didn’t allow a sack the past two seasons and helped power Chuba Hubbard’s 2,000-yard rushing season. His tackle-guard versatility would provide key flexibility from Day 1 and an eventual starter at right tackle.
“If I was going to be the guy this year, I’d have to be a mother on the field, be a dickhead, be more aggressive than I ever was, and I took that personally,” Jenkins said at pro day.
