Mortal Kombat Fan Explains How Noob Saibot And Darth Vader Are Basically The Same Character
Star Wars actually share some common ground. To be more precise, the characters Noob Saibot and Darth Vader are so alike that their origin stories are borderline interchangeable with each other.
As pointed out by Reddit user Large-Wheel-4181, both villains started out their careers as a ninja and Jedi respectively with good intentions, only to ultimately be seduced by a dark power and coerced into committing unspeakable acts. Anakin Skywalker slaughters an entire group of Younglings in
Revenge of the Sith, while Sub-Zero, real name Bi-Han, murders a ninja clan after being manipulated by an evil sorcerer. That last detail is omitted from Simon McQuoid’s recent reboot, of course, so if one were to exclude it, the circumstances don’t quite match up.
Mehcad Brooks Just Proved There s Nothing CGI About His Mortal Kombat Gains Milan Polk

Actor Mehcad Brooks went all in for his
Mortal Kombat workouts and clearly, he hasn t been slacking off since the movie premiered on HBO Max last week. Yesterday Brooks, who plays Jax Briggs in the latest film adaptation of the classic video game, posted two shirtless photos to Instagram displaying his shredded physique. No special effects there.
In a caption to the post, Brooks tagged his personal trainer Andrew Schuth, as well as the Nino Pilla International Academy of Martial Arts where he did some of his training for the movie. Brooks character, Jax, is known for his impressively swole upper body, and it s fair to say the actor achieved the gains necessary to convincingly play the cybernetically-enhanced super-soldier. (His intense commitment to the role, of course, also factored into the film s famously gruesome fight scenes.)
The plot is pretty much the exact same - evil invaders from another dimension want to challenge Earth s best fighters, with the stake of the entire planet on the line - but we all know we re here for the brilliant fight scenes, and the latest interpretations of some of our favourite video game characters of all time.
One of those is the iconic Sub-Zero, this time played by Joe Taslim (The Raid, Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond), and we had the opportunity to chat to him ahead of the movie s release.

Like many video game adaptations, including the long-in-the-works Uncharted movie, Mortal Kombat is a game series that was deeply influenced by movies and eventually got to come full circle to the screen. In fact, MK has been given more than a single chance to turn a hit game series into a blockbuster feature film. The franchise has had three chances so far, and the latest Mortal Kombat is the goriest one yet staying true to the franchise s controversial roots.
Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim says he s signed on for 4 sequels

Arguably one of the best aspects of the new
Mortal Kombat is Joe Taslim s mostly silent, but deadly, portrayal of Bi-Han/Sub-Zero. Taslim brings his signature fight training to the role while giving the character a sense of foreboding that leaves an undeniable impression. The character seemingly meets his end during the climactic fight with Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) but with someone like Taslim playing an iconic villain of the video game franchise, that end may not be permanent. In fact, Taslim s contract for future movies pretty much guarantees he s going to return.
