The project is part of the 2017 Water Capital Facilities Plan to upgrade old undersized lines within the distribution system.
The project entails replacement of four four-inch steel lines, believed to have been installed around the 1940s, with new six-inch C900 PVC lines in alleys south of Washington and Jefferson between Cedar and Locust.
The project also includes the replacement of the existing affected service lines with new three-quarter-inch copper lines with lead-free brass fittings. The project will begin late February and take about 90 days to complete. Property owners will be notified prior to start of construction.

The doors of Old West opened for the class of 2024 as Dickinson officially welcomed the first group of first-year students to campus for the spring 2021 semester.
Each year, Dickinson welcomes new students to campus with one of the college s most hallowed traditions. First-year students walk up the steps of Old West and pass through the doors of Memorial Hall to sign in to the college. At Commencement, the graduating class walks out the doors and down the steps, symbolically exiting the college and entering the world of alumni.
This year, due to the pandemic, Dickinson was not able to gather students for this ceremony in the fall, so the college moved it to the spring semester.
