The Portland Trail Blazers endured another losing week and another tumble in the NBA power rankings.
The Blazers dropped to 3-6 in their last nine games after laboring through a tough 1-3 stretch that featured losses to the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets. Only a last-second come-from-behind win at San Antonio prevented a winless week.

The man who patrolled power forward for the Blazers for nine years announced he was retiring after a distinguished career that included seven All-Star berths, five All-NBA selections and 19,951 points. Aldridge, who has played throughout his career with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a heart disorder, said it was an irregular heartbeat that led to his abrupt retirement.

He just didn’t expect the attention to surround high school dance moves and old shirtless videos.
But there it was, for the world to see, courtesy of social media and veteran Boston Celtics teammates Jaylen Brown and Tristan Thompson.
A video clip of Pritchard, then a teenager, standing in front of his fridge in West Linn doing the “running man.” A clip of Pritchard, shirtless, bustin’ a move to Benee’s “Supalonely.” Beneath each of the videos, unearthed by Brown and Thompson and posted to millions of followers on Instagram, was a simple message: “mood.”

The struggling Portland Trail Blazers are heading in the wrong direction in the Western Conference standings and in the NBA power rankings.
After limping to a 1-3 week that included lopsided losses to the LA Clippers, Utah Jazz and Miami Heat, the Blazers have mostly fallen outside the top 10 in the latest batch of power rankings.

Nico Zeglin managed to pull off a feat that had eluded his peers for 18 long and painful innings this season he silenced the Oregon State Beavers’ red-hot lineup.
Zeglin pitched five strong innings and the Gonzaga Bulldogs finally held the Beavers’ offense at bay, earning a 5-2 win Tuesday night to split a two-game non-conference baseball series at Goss Stadium.
