Larry Householder faces political, financial pressure

Republican Larry Householder projects strength and smarts. Behind the scenes, his world is crumbling. Laura A. Bischoff and Jessie Balmert, The Columbus Dispatch Published 2:04 am UTC Jul. 21, 2021 Moments after he was removed from the Ohio House of Representatives, indicted former Speaker Larry Householder held his head high, stepped in front of television cameras and told fellow Ohioans not to count him out. Ex-Ohio Rep Candice Keller keeps special plate after primary loss

View Comments But that can be hard to do when you share a license plate.  Keller is still using her old state representative license plate, REP 053, even though she is no longer a state lawmaker. She lost a state Senate primary to West Chester s George Lang in April 2020.  That s a problem because Hall, elected to lead Butler County s 53rd House District last fall, also uses the REP 053 license plate. Hall, a Madison Township Republican, said his constituents have mistaken his vehicle for Keller s; they both drive white sedans. One constituent sent Hall a photo of Keller s vehicle with her regular license plate on the back and the state representative plate on the front. The vehicle was parked in a handicapped parking space, which Hall doesn t need as the Legislature s youngest member with no physical limitations.
