During the timed scavenger hunt, inspired by the CBS series “The Amazing Race,” teams will be given rolling starts from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Albany Pump Station and will have two hours to visit and take a team photo at their choice of nine of the 13 sites of historic Albany breweries on the tour, finishing back at the Pump Station, at Quackenbush Square in downtown Albany.

Like back in 2020, it’s anything but a normal St. Patrick’s Day this year. With Albany’s parade canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic for a second straight year, WAMC’s Jackie Orchard reports the holiday might serve as a way to reflect on the immigrant story and what it means to conquer hardship.
Elizabeth Stack, Executive Director of the Irish American Heritage Museum, says one of the best things about being a national museum of immigrant history is the sense of community. Weddings usually reflect the couples getting married, but the coronavirus pandemic shifted the scope on a lot of planned ceremonies and receptions. Some were cancelled or postponed for future dates, and some went on in other fashions. Here are some Capital Region wedding stories from this past year.
What was originally supposed to be a 190+ person event was paired down to just a (lucky) thirteen immediate family members and our two dogs. On June 6, 2020, everything in the world was still so uncertain other than the fact that for the past two years we knew this was going to be the day we finally tied the knot. Family got ordained, became our glam squad, stood in as flower women (our moms) / ring bearers (our brothers) and showed us that true love really does conquer all.
