T&D Dog of the Week: Sissy | 105 9 The Brew

Apr 19, 2021 Sponsored by Pets on Broadway! I have to admit up front, Sissy is currently my favorite dog in the shelter. I adore her! Though she and I did get off to a bit of a rough start. Sissy is just about 2 years old, and is a 58 pound hound/shepard mix. Sweet Sissy’s first couple years were rough. Rougher than any of us would ever want to go through. She came to OHS in early March as part of an animal hoarding case. She had previously lived with as many as 7 little dogs, and didn’t particularly like any of them. Much of that was probably due to the kind of ‘everyone is out for themselves’ spot that often comes from hoarding cases. When Sissy first came to Oregon Humane, she was very scared, shut down, afraid of touch, afraid to play, and very barrier reactive toward people who came past her kennel. And her kennel was in a tough spot. She was in kennel 1, which the first one everyone walks by when entering the dog kennel pods. Every time I (and others) walk

Posted: Apr 9, 2021 2:15 PM Posted By: KEZI Staff 12 Images CRESWELL, Ore. – A Creswell woman sentenced in a massive horse neglect case more than a year ago will soon be back in court over claims she violated her probation. Gwenyth Davies, 50, was required to follow specific conditions and pay restitution of nearly $50,000 in monthly increments in order to avoid jail time. She pleaded guilty to 11 counts of second-degree animal neglect in early 2020.  A total of 61 horses were removed from her property in October 2019 as part of the investigation. Authorities said a veterinarian found that the horses were not receiving the minimum care standards under Oregon law.

T&D Dog of the Week: Evan | 105 9 The Brew

Apr 5, 2021 This week we’d like to feature a shy, sensitive puppy named Evan. Evan is a 10 month old, 46 pound lab/pointer mix who came to us from Tulsa, OK in November. Because of his fearfulness, he’s been part of our Behavior Modification program, which has been helping him to learn confidence and trust. Evan is a sweet boy, but he is worried about new people, new situations, and busy environments. He needs a quiet home with a secure fully fenced yard, and a patient, calm person who understands and can live with his fearful nature. He would not do well in a busy apartment complex, a home with a lot of hustle and bustle, or one with children. Evan will do best in a home with a calm, confident dog (or dogs!). He loves spending time with other dogs and going to a home with a dog of similar size will help him open up and build his confidence. Once he gets to know you, you’ll see that Evan is fun-loving and enthusiastic. He has a lot of energy and is amazingly athletic! He lov
