As Clark County’s two largest law enforcement agencies inch closer to purchasing body-worn cameras for their officers and deputies, departments elsewhere reported that, for the most part, they did not experience cost overruns or major issues when establishing their programs.

On Sunday, Jan. 31, Oregon City police arrested a felon who randomly shot a bullet into the former Blue Heron Paper Co. mill from the top of the cliff along the McLoughlin Promenade.
No one was injured at about 1 p.m., when officers responded to a witness report of a man shooting along the 300 block of Promenade Street.
Officers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Timothy Steven Miller, who they determined had fired one round from a 9mm handgun. The weapon was recovered during the investigation.
Two men arrested for selling meth in Oregon City, police say KATU Staff
Two men were arrested in Oregon City accused of selling methamphetamine, police say.
On Sunday officers were involved in a drug investigation in the area of McLoughlin Blvd and South 2nd Street, according to Oregon City Police.
During the investigation, officers arrested 24-year-old Ryan Garceau for distribution of a controlled substance after he came to the area and delivered methamphetamine.
Police say the next day, officers also arrested 45-year-old Anthony Edgerly for distribution of a controlled substance in relation to the earlier investigation.
Garceau and Edgerly were both lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on distribution of a controlled substance charges.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Valentina Muggia started Dec. 7 in the Oregon City Police Department s newly-created mental health specialist position after working with law enforcement agencies for the past 20 years.
Oregon City Police Chief Jim Band has long seen the need for an in-house mental health professional and has been working to create Muggia s position since fall of last year after determining the need for a new approach to helping members of the community in crisis. OCPD has worked with members of the Clackamas County Behavioral Health Unit when they are available, but Band believes county resources are spread too thin to be as effective as possible for Oregon City citizens.
