STATE pension payments can be a vital form of support for retired people, however, many are not aware their entitlement could also mean they could gain a reduction in their council tax.
STATE pension payments increase each year due to the Triple Lock Mechanism, with increases protected for British pensioners living overseas, but only in certain countries. This has proved an issue, which many have called upon the government to rectify.

SEISS is formally known as the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme and has been in place since 2020, but was extended to provide further support. The Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the temporary uplift, worth £1,040 per year, to Universal Credit and Working Tax Credit in March last year, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
