Insecurity: Global Rights reports 1, 603 Nigerians killed within Q1 of 2021 On By Gabriel Ewepu – Abuja An international rights organization, Global Rights Nigeria, Sunday, reported 1, 603 Nigerians were killed in the first quarter of 2021. The report tagged ‘Violent Incidents Report: January 2021’ which was made available to Vanguard attributed the killings to ‘mass atrocities across the country between January and March 2021. According to the report, there has been Harvest of Abductions, Insecurity of Security Officers, Ethnic/communal tensions, Unending Terrors, and others, which have worsened the insecurity situation across the country. The report also pointed that banditry alone claimed 906 lives, which made it the highest cause of killings in the country and followed by Boko Haram attacks claiming 207 lives in Nigeria while kidnapping recorded 1, 774 abductees within the period under review.

Daily Post Nigeria Published Men of Oyo State Police Command have arrested two fraudsters who have been defrauding innocent residents of the State by buying goods and collecting money from Point of Sales (POS) operators with fake bank alerts. DAILY POST gathered that the duo of Olayide Olumide and Oluwemimo Adeyanju have been purchasing clothing materials and electronics from shop owners and market women. They also withdrew money from Point of Sale (POS) operators in some parts of Ibadan such as Apete and Awotan communities. The suspects were arrested after series of complaints from some of the victims. DAILY POST gathered on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested on Friday by the Police operatives attached to Apete Police Divisional Headquarters.
