“Immediately the DPO Sanyo got wind of the incident, he contacted Fire service while he also went to the scene for on the spot assessment.
“The fire was eventually put out.
“Investigation has commenced into the incident while the Police is on the trail of the hoodlums.”
Mr. Igboho, an Oyo indigene, has been a prominent figure in the recent tensions between herders and the local community in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
He had issued a quit notice to the herders over allegations of kidnappings, killings, rape, and other violent activities.
The ultimatum expired last week and Igboho held a massive rally in the community after which some houses and properties in the herder’s settlements were torched, according to the police.
The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday gave reasons why it rejected armed robbery suspects brought to it by the Oyo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun.
The spokesman of the command, Olugbenga Fadeyi qouted the state Commissioner of Police, Nwachukwu Enwonwu in a statement on Tuesday as explaining that it was not true that the police were not cooperating with Amotekun, but had to work in accordance to its jurisdiction sensitivity.
According to the CP, the Amotekun operatives took the suspects to divisions other than where the alleged crime was committed and that they were presented in bad shape.

Oyo State Police Command on Monday said it has arrested no fewer than five suspects in connection with the attacks on some residents of Ibadan, the state capital on Sunday.
DAILY POST gathered that some residents of Aremo and other communities were on Sunday attacked by some hoodlums.
During the violence that ensued, some shops belonging to innocent citizens, cars and other valuable property were destroyed by the hoodlums.
The State Police Command in its reaction on Monday confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi in a statement made available to DAILY POST informed that the suspects would be transferred to SCID for discreet instigation.

The Oyo State Police Command on Sunday said the two people who were reportedly killed at Asaka area of Ibadan were killed for not joining Odu a People Congress (OPC).
The public relations officer of the state command, Olugbemiga Fadeyi, told SaharaReporters in Ibadan that their death had nothing to do with the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun.

Some newspapers had last week reported that men of Amotekun killed two people – Delokun Akin and Azeez Hammed at Akala Road, Asaka in the state capital, but the PPRO in an interview with our correspondent denied the allegations.
