A young lady identified as Blessing Godwin has narrated how she escaped being a victim of Uduak Frank Akpan, the prime suspect in the murder of late Akwa Ibom Job seeker, Iniubong Umoren.
Frank Akpan on Friday confessed to killing Iniubong, claiming they had consensual sex but many Nigerians have dismissed his account, saying it could easily be deduced that she was raped and killed.

The prime suspect in the murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren, the 26-year-old University of Uyo graduate of Philosophy, who was lured, raped and eventually killed for a phony job offer in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has confessed to killing her, saying he was ready to take the same punishment if found guilty.
The suspect, Uduak Frank Akpan, was paraded along with his father by the Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Amiengheme Andrew, at the state headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, near Uyo, the state capital on Friday, following calls, according to the CP, that the suspect had committed suicide in police custody to shield other accomplices.

Akpan who spoke on Friday when paraded at the Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, though admitted to having lured and raped more than six girls through advertising for phoney job vacancies, purely as revenge for how girls had been duping him but denied killing any other girl apart from Iniubong Umoren. The 20-year-old and 200 level student of Public Administration, Obong University, Obong Ntak, Akwa Ibom State, who was paraded alongside his father, Mr Frank Akpan, admitted to killing Umoren when she came for the fake job interview and he demanded sex to which she agreed but insisted on using a condom.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has suspended three local government council chairmen over alleged disregard for the guidelines governing their activities.
The lawmakers took the action Tuesday, saying the House can no longer continue to watch while the council chairmen continue to flout the state’s local government guidelines.
The suspended chairmen include Ogidan Mukandasi Olaitan of Lekki LCDA, Suleiman Jelili of Alimosho local government area, and Tajudeen Ajide of Surulere local government area.
Their suspension was unanimously approved by members of the House in a voice vote with no opposition shortly after Bisi Yusuff (Alimosho 1) raised a complaint against Mr Olaitan.
