Mercedes introducing EQB compact electric SUV in Shanghai
The new Mercedes-Benz EQB is making its debut at Auto Shanghai 2021 this week. Following the EQA 250 (combined electrical consumption: 15.7 kWh/100 km) it is the second fully electric compact car from Mercedes-EQ. The market launch in China is scheduled for this year. After Europe, the international version of the EQB, produced in Kecskemét, Hungary, will be launched at the end of the year, followed by the US market launch in 2022.
The EQB range will include several models with front-wheel and all-wheel drive, various power ratings some of which will exceed 200 kW plus batteries with usable capacities starting from 66.5 kWh. A particularly long-range version is also planned.
2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB electric SUV gets 3 rows and a US release

Mercedes-Benz’s electric SUV range is gaining a new family member, and the 2022 EQB could end up being the most practical so far. While it may not be quite as eye-catching – or, for that matter, as luxurious – as the lavish EQS announced last week, the EQB will have space for up to seven and a decent amount of their luggage, too.
It’s making its debut at the Auto Shanghai 2021 show today, and indeed the model you see here is the China/Euro-specific version. That will be produced in Beijing, Mercedes says, and launch in the country later this year; a European release will begin in 2021 as well.
Mercedes has added a third electric SUV to its line-up with this: the new EQB, which is an all-electric alternative to the German brand’s versatile GLBcompact SUV.
Placed between the EQA and EQC in the firm’s growing line-up of EQ-branded electric vehicles, the new Mercedes EQB is a compact electric SUV for buyers demanding space and flexibility, given it offers something that rivals like the new Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen ID.4 don’t - seven seats.
The EQB has been revealed in Chinese market specification at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, but Mercedes says that its new electric SUV will make its European debut later in 2021.
Mercedes-Benz has given its CLS a comprehensive facelift, with the car now looking sleeker and sportier. The car s interior also sees an upgrade, with additional leather and trim combinations, and a new steering wheel, forming part of the package.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the first European customers will take delivery of their CLSs in July, with other markets following soon after. The automaker says that it sold more than 450 000 CLS units since the car first came to market in 2004, with China, South Korea, the USA, and Germany stepping up as the largest markets.
The new CLS is available in two exterior trims, namely Avantgarde and AMG Line. All models with Avantgarde or AMG Line exterior receive a new radiator grille. Special features of this grille are the Mercedes-Benz pattern (a three-dimensional star pattern with chrome-gloss surfaces), a louvre in high-gloss black with chrome inlay, and the integrated Mercedes star.
