A pair of hand-knitted poppy and star banners have ended their four-week flight around New Zealand with a series of stops in Northland for locals to add their Anzac tributes. Organiser Melanie Salisbury said volunteer pilots had delivered the banners to each destination where they were added to by local crafters. About 220 participants of all ages and abilities enjoyed the Western Vista Hawke s Bay leg of the Aramex Kiwi Walk & Run Series on Saturday in Taradale.
Three different course lengths (4.5km, 7km and 14km) all started and finished at Church Road Winery, with trails looping around Dolbel Reserve, Sugar Loaf Hill and Maggies Way.

The trail will run through Sugarloaf and the hills west of Taradale to the finish line at Church Road Winery. Photo / Warren Buckland Western Vista , the second event of the series, will be held on April 10.
Entrants will follow either a 3.5 or 7 kilometre course over the undulating hills west of Church Road Winery, where the finish line is located.
Series director Lauren Watson, of SMC Events, said she wanted to have a really unique and interesting feel at each event.

the 2021 Aramex Kiwi Walk & Run Series is the perfect
way to achieve resolutions of exercise & exploration,
with seven events set to take place in some of the
country’s most scenic spots.
From forest treks to
river trails, the Aramex Kiwi Walk & Run Series allows
people of any athletic ability to walk or run in stunning
settings throughout New Zealand from March to May.

series is being launched by SMC Events, and was developed
