BHUBANESWAR: Even as universities and degree colleges gear up to welcome students on Monday after a gap of nine months, the authorities concerned are unsure about whether they should make them undergo a Covid-19 test or simply ask them to furnish aCovid-negative report before letting them in.
While two universities are planning to allow only students with Covid-negative reports, the others are undecided. Two other universities are planning to seek a self-declaration of Covid-19 symptoms, if any, from the students. Some professors argued that it is not feasible to compel the students to carry the Covid test report.

More than 11.42 lakh birds of 190 species visited Chilika Lake in Odisha this year, officials said on Wednesday.
The bird census conducted on Tuesday revealed that more than 11.42 lakh birds have come to the lagoon this year which is more than previous year s 11.04 lakh winged visitors, they said. Removal of 160 sq km of encroachment in 2018-2019, has resulted in record arrival of annual guests, Chilika Development Authority (CDA) Chief Executive, Susanta Nanda said. He said the population of avifauna is the best indicator of the health of a wetland ecosystem.
Nanda, also a wildlife lover, said: Wetland ecosystems are highly resilient and bounce back to normalcy in shortest possible time. Chilika is a safe haven for the migratory birds.
