Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, were among the six governors, who took their COVID-19 vaccine yesterday as more states took delivery of their consignments.
Other governors who were administered with the vaccines yesterday include: Malam Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa and Abubakar Bello of Niger State.
This comes as additional states – Adamawa, Bauchi, Kwara, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, and Niger took delivery of their vaccines yesterday.
Bello; his deputy, Alhaji Mohammed Ketso, and members of the Niger State Executive Council yesterday took their jab of the vaccine in Minna, the state capital. The vaccine was administered to the governor by his physician, Dr. Shehu Ahmed, at Government House.

As Lagos prepares to roll out its COVID vaccination programme, medical doctors in the state are demanding equity in the vaccination processes as well as strict adherence to the initial plans of vaccinating health workers and other front liners to ensure a hitch-free vaccination of all Lagosians.
In a chat with Vanguard, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Lagos State branch, Dr Adetunji Adenekan said the Association was yet to get notification from the state government on the modalities of the rollout of vaccines in the state.

There seems not to be an end to the communal clash between Erin-Osun and Ilobu as the two communities have refused to sheath their swords.
Despite the imposition of 24-hour curfew imposed on the two communities and its environs, houses were still burnt early hours on Monday as soldiers were said to have left the town after the state police Commissioner, Olawale Olokode left the towns Sunday evening.
It was gathered that the curfew imposed on the towns were effective at majorly on the roads accessible to security operatives while there are issues of attacks on the inner parts of the communities
Family of policeman allegedly killed by three DSS operatives seek justice

Family of a policeman, Fawale Rauf, allegedly killed by three operatives of the Department of State Services during a fight sought justice for their late son.
It was gathered that the late Rauf was involved in a fisticuff with three unidentified personnel of the DSS on Thursday, January 14, around a popular bar at Oke-Fia area in Osogbo around 6 pm.
A check showed that the deceased was smashed on the head with a stick several times by his assailant for yet to be known reasons. He was however taken to a private hospital by his friends and later discharged, but on developing further complications, he was referred to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, where he eventually died on Sunday.
