A fight between two men in northern Oakland County last weekend led to one being shot, Michigan State Police said Monday.
A man arrived at his friend s house in Holly Township intoxicated on Sunday night, and an argument occurred on the back porch of the home after the visitor was asked to leave, state police said on Twitter. During the argument, the visitor pulled a knife and went towards the homeowner who was in possession of a registered pistol at the time.
The resident, in turn, fired a single round, striking his friend, state police said.
Both men called 911. The visitor was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

HAZEL PARK, MI Four teenagers were arrested Monday following a police chase that started when officers responded to a reported shooting in Hazel Park. According to Fox 2 Detroit, Hazel Park police were called around 2 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
The victims described the suspect vehicle as a 2007 Dodge Nitro that was in the area of Woodward Heights and Couzens. Police later spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but the driver fled. A chase ensued taking officers through Detroit and Warren before the chase eventually ended when the driver crashed on a residential street.

âJemeila Brewer, 36, of Flint, was arraigned April 5 in Oakland County 52-2 District Court on a three-count warrant authorized by the Oakland County Prosecutorâs Office. She is facing one count of second-degree homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and one count of failing to stop and identity herself at the accident resulting in death. Bond was set at $25,000 (10-percent). She is lodged in the Oakland County Jail pending further court proceedings.
