A man is facing charges of disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing police following an incident in South Lyon.
Authorities say staff members at South Lyon High School on Tuesday advised the School Resource Deputy that a suspicious vehicle with a man and a dog were parked in the staff parking lot and appeared to have been in an accident.
A Deputy with the Oakland County Sheriffâs Office Lyon Township substation located the vehicle and spoke to the driver who told the deputy he was waiting for a tow truck as his vehicle had a flat tire and body damage. As they spoke, the Deputy said he detected the odor of intoxicants, at which point the man became highly agitated and placed the dog between his legs and made repeated racial slurs directed at the Deputy and reportedly threatened to âlet his dog looseâ.

A man accused of using a pickup truck to hit his ex-girlfriend s brother over the weekend in Highland Township has been charged in the case.
52-year-old Richard Eric Kalinowski of Holly was arraigned Tuesday in Oakland County District Court on a single count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
Authorities say Kalinowski was arrested Sunday shortly after the incident in which a 43-year-old man told sheriff s deputies his sister had called him and said Kalinowski was chasing her in his Dodge Ram pickup truck. As she pulled into the driveway of her brotherâs Highland Township home, the man said he ran toward Kalinowskiâs truck, but was pushed by the vehicle into a parked SUV. He says Kalinowski then swerved at him before driving off.

Jason Dean, a teacher accused of grooming and sexually assaulting students, pleaded no contest to five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The 37-year-old Livonia resident accused by a former 2010 student at Cedar Crest Academy in Springfield Township entered his pleas over Zoom the morning of April 15.
“That’s five counts total,” Oakland Circuit Court Judge Yasmine Poles said. “Do you understand that, Mr. Dean? There’s two counts as to one of your files and three counts as to the other. You’re taking responsibility for all of those.”
“Yes,” he replied.
Dean was to report to Oakland County Jail by the afternoon. He is scheduled for a May 20 sentencing.
