AIU welcomes CAS decision to ban Christian Coleman for 18 months | NEWS

Athletics Integrity Unit (© AIU) The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has welcomed the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) today that Christian Coleman of the USA has committed an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2.4 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules and shall serve a period of ineligibility of 18 months from 14 May 2020. In October last year, the independent Disciplinary Tribunal had banned Mr Coleman for two years. The athlete appealed against the decision at CAS and, following a hearing, the CAS panel reduced the suspension to 18 months. The panel rejected Mr Coleman’s claim to have returned home during the 60-minute testing window on 9 December 2019 as ‘untenable’ and found that his conduct in failing to return home from his shopping trip was ‘negligent’. Court dismisses applications by 22 death-row inmates over forwarding of letters by prisons to AGC Toggle share menu Advertisement The entrance gate of Changi Prison. (File photo: Singapore Prison Service) 16 Mar 2021 05:10PM) Share this content Bookmark SINGAPORE: A court has dismissed a bid by 22 inmates on death row to seek information over purportedly private letters from two inmates to their lawyers and families that the Singapore Prisons Service had forwarded to the Attorney-General s Chambers (AGC).  The 22 inmates, who are represented by lawyer M Ravi, had started legal action to obtain information from the AG, including the identities of those who had asked for the inmates correspondence to be forwarded to the AG and the people who sent on the information.
