Gilda Barabino began her term as AAAS president-elect on Feb. 24. | Olin College of Engineering Gilda Barabino, president of Olin College of Engineering, was selected by the membership of the American Association for the Advancement of Science to serve as AAAS president-elect. Barabino began her term Feb. 24 and will serve as president-elect for one year. She will then serve for one year as AAAS president and one year as chair of the AAAS Board of Directors. Members also selected two members of the AAAS Board of Directors during the election, held Feb. 8-22. Janine Austin Clayton, the associate director for research on women’s health at the National Institutes of Health and director of the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health, was newly elected to the board for a four-year term. Kaye Husbands Fealing, the dean of the Ivan College of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology, was elected to a second four-year term.
