Two Traffic Stops in Oelwein = Two Arrests
The Oelwein Police Department reports that 2 area residents were arrested following separate traffic stops.
On Sunday (March 14) at about 2:30pm, officers pulled over a car at the intersection of South Frederick and 4th Street SW, for not having a license plate. The driver, 39 year old Carrie Jo Fox of Oelwein, was taken into custody for Driving While Barred.

At about 6pm Friday, police were sent out to investigate an incident near the intersection of Highways 150 and 281, on the south side of Oelwein. There, they arrested 26 year old Kistler Pritchett of Oelwein, for Operating While Intoxicated-2nd Offense.
Oelwein Police Looking for Owner of Found Money
The Oelwein Police Department is trying to locate the owner of some cash, found in the city in January.
A citizen turned in the money to the Oelwein Police Department, on the afternoon of January 25th of 2021. The owner has not yet been found.
The owner of the cash in question, may claim their property by contacting the Oelwein Police Department (319-283-4311) and describing the exact amount of money they lost, what are the denominations, what the money was contained in, and where they may have lost it.

Stolen Pickup Investigation, Along with 2 Burglaries
An apparent vehicle theft in Oelwein is being investigated.
The Oelwein Police Department received a report just before 10:30am Thursday (Feb. 25) that a pickup was taken without permission, from the 1,000 block of 2nd Street NW.
The vehicle, a silver and black 1988 Chevrolet C-1500, was later located. Oelwein Police continue to investigate the incident.

Shortly after 11am Thursday, Oelwein Police were called to the 200 block of 6th Avenue SE, and also the 300 block of 2nd Avenue NE, on the report of 2 burglaries. No other information was released.
The Oelwein Police Department continues the investigation.
Local Man Turns Self in for Outstanding Warrant
At about 2am, 23 year old Isiah Heidt turned himself in at the Oelwein Police Department.

Heidt was wanted in Fayette County on the original charges of Public Intoxication, and Interference with Official Acts.
Both charges are simple misdemeanors.
