• Last Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted unanimously to change the wording of a proposal to grant wide latitude on sitting temporary housing for homeless individuals to make clear that parks, green spaces and park parking lots are off limits. The change came as Portland City Council members continued to clarify proposed rule changes to allow tiny house pods, tent encampments and other forms of shelter for people experiencing homelessness throughout the city. Westwood High School science teacher Andrew Miller delivered raw chicken legs to his students’ homes for a dissection project that, in pre-COVID days, would have been done in school.
“It did feel a little weird, a little strange, but it was still very interesting to me,” said Westwood High senior Olivia Lee, who dissected the chicken leg in her kitchen while joining Miller and her classmates on Zoom. “I really enjoyed it.”
The Westwood High science department has gotten creative this year to keep students involved during the pandemic. Even as teachers prepare for expanded in-person learning this spring, teachers are leveraging virtual tools to facilitate hands-on learning.

MCM Cares raises RM55,000 in aid of Sabah flood victims 10 Feb 2021 / 09:47 H.
KUALA LUMPUR: McMillan Woods Global has responded to the massive flooding in Kota Kinabalu by launching its CSR initiative, the McM Cares programme.
This fundraising campaign is established to raise RM50,000 to aid the villagers whose homes were destroyed due to the downpour. Through its immense efforts, the McM Cares programme was able to exceed the fundraising target, and managed to raise RM55,000.
The king tide around the west coast of Sabah has created havoc since Jan 18, causing many villagers their homes and leaving them with nowhere to sleep.
