DOVRE TOWNSHIP, KANDIYOHI COUNTY A 33-year-old man is in custody after fleeing in a motor vehicle and on foot on Friday.
Renville County reports encouraging news on COVID-19 front
After a surge in COVID-19 cases in November, Renville County has seen its number of new cases fall to under 10 per day, compared to 20 to 40 a day. OLIVIA Renville County reported some encouraging news on a decline in the daily number of new COVID-19 cases.
Jill Bruns, public health director, told the Renville County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday that the case rate has been dropping since it surged in November. The county is currently seeing fewer than 10 newly confirmed cases a day. In November, it was seeing 20 to 40 newly confirmed cases each day.

The BOLD School District is returning to hybrid learning after learning Monday that 11 of its students tested positive for COVID-19. About 140 students are in quarantine due to direct exposure or participation in extracurricular activities with the infected students.

OLIVIA BOLD School Board members trimmed the bond issue they are putting to voters in February by $1.5 million at a special meeting on Monday.
On a unanimous vote, board members approved a resolution asking voters to approve a $57.4 million bond to build a new PreK-grade 12 school adjacent to the Olivia Hospital and Clinic property in Olivia. Board members had approved putting a $58.9 million bond referendum to voters at their Nov. 23 meeting.
