DOVER – The COVID-19 pandemic means there won’t be a group of Dover High School students and teachers joining hundreds around the state heading to Hampton Beach next month to dive into the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean for the annual Penguin Plunge. But that doesn’t mean Dover students and teachers won’t be raising money for the Special Olympics of New Hampshire and the school’s Unified Sports teams. Senior Jacob Favolise, who is a member of Dover High School’s National Honor Society, said students are raising money this year through “individual ice bucket challenges.” “Obviously the National Honor Society has been a little bit limited in terms of what it can do in person this year because of COVID,” he said during an interview this week. “But we’re still going to be pouring buckets of ice water over our heads while we’re outside in the cold.”
