From April 12 to April 18, Christian Church of Morden received two fines, each totaling $5,000 for allegedly violating provincial lockdown orders. Flea Whiskey s in Winnipeg and Original Joe s Restaurant and Bar in Brandon were also fined $5,000 during that time, with 14 persons also fined $1,296 each for similar violations, CTV News Winnipeg reported Tuesday. “The public is reminded that abusive and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated, and criminal offences will be reported to police and investigated,” stated province officials, according to CTV.

Woman ticketed twice for weekend parties

Winnipeg Free Press Winnipeg Free Press Thompson RCMP ticketed a woman twice for holding parties that violated pandemic restrictions this weekend. Officers were called to an apartment complex on Cree Road in Thompson after a report of a party at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday and heard loud music coming from the apartment. RCMP said the officers found a large group of people inside. The renter, a 25-year-old woman, was handed a $1,296 ticket for violating the public health order. RCMP said they received another report of a gathering at the same address at around 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Officers again found multiple people in the apartment, the RCMP said, and ticketed the woman a second time.

  WINNIPEG A church in Morden, along with two Manitoba restaurants have been handed thousands of dollars in fines for allegedly breaking public health orders. The province said there were 21 tickets handed out during the week of April 12 to 18 over public health order violations. There were 14 tickets – each worth $1,296 – handed to people for various reasons. Eight of these tickets were in connection to gatherings in private residences or outdoors. A provincial enforcement update said the Christian Church of Morden received two $5,000 fines during the week, and $5,000 fines handed to both Flea Whiskey s in Winnipeg, and Original Joe s Restaurant and Bar in Brandon.
