The Opelousas Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a person with life-threatening injuries.  Police were called at about 3 a.m. to Academy Street near Blanchard Street. the area is known as The Back, Chief Martin McLendon said in a release.  Officers found a victim who had been shot.
