The House of Representatives during it’s Special plenary session on Monday resolved to set up an adhoc committee to investigate allegations of N19.2 Billion Railway Rehabilitation Contract Awarded to ESER Contracting Industry Company Incorporated. The proposed Committee is expected to report back to the House in 4 weeks. The resolution of the House followed a motion on “ the need to investigate the N19.2 billion Railway Rehabilitation Contract Awarded to ESER Contracting Industry Company Incorporated” sponsored by the Minority Leader of the House , Hon. Ndudi Elimelu. Presenting The Motion, the Minority Leader said “the House notes that Eser CONTRACTING and industry company incorporated was awarded the contract to rehabilitate the 463km Port Harcourt – Makurdi section of the eastern railway line for N19.2 billion in March 2011.
