Andy Biggs (R-AZ) urged President Joe Biden Tuesday to rescind the security clearance granted to Obama-era Secretary of State John Kerry, who now sits on the National Security Council as the special envoy on climate change. Biggs, the chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, requested the suspension of Kerry’s security clearance in a letter to Biden written in response to recent allegations that the former Secretary of State shared Israeli military secrets with the country’s arch enemy Iran. The Arizona lawmaker described Kerry’s alleged actions as potentially treasonous, writing to the president:

28 Apr 2021Washington, DC Three Republican members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee demanded Wednesday that the inspector general at the U.S. Department of State investigate Special Envoy John Kerry to determine the validity of recently surfaced allegations that he shared sensitive information about Israeli military operations with Iran. Reps. Andy Barr (R-KY), Ann Wagner (R-MO), and Lee Zeldin (R-NY) made the demand for an immediate, impartial probe in a letter sent Wednesday to Diana Shaw, the acting IG who oversees the State Department, asking her to “investigate Special Envoy Kerry’s relationship with Iranian Foreign Minister [FM Mohammad Javad] Zarif and determine whether his security clearance should be revoked or not.”

OpenSpace OpenSpace announced that it has raised a $50 million Series C funding round. A former commerce secretary invested as part of the round, led by hedge fund Alkeon Capital Management. The construction tech company said it saw a 150% growth in customers last year. OpenSpace CEO Jeevan Kalanithi wasn t planning to raise any more money after a fundraising effort last year netted the company $15.9 million. The Series B round in July 2020 helped the company hone and expand the use of its software, which uses video to help contractors, architects, and developers track the progress of under-construction buildings remotely. But then pandemic brought in even more customers who wanted to monitor construction sites from afar via photos, videos, and artificial intelligence.
