COVID-19 reunion: Mother, son reunite after 1 year in New Rochelle

An emotional reunion took place for a mother and son who hadn t seen each other in a year.
Josefina Catedrilla had not been able to see her 45-year-old son Cyril after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March 2020.
Cyril had to be placed into an induced coma for two months to protect his health after he contracted the virus. Even after he awakened from his coma over the summer, his family still could not see him.
As Cyril recovered, he was moved to United Hebrew of New Rochelle in October.

After raising her sons, she returned to nursing at the Jewish Center for Aged where she became a head nurse and was loved by all residents. Â
This year we celebrated Passover early, on a Sunday a few days before St. Patrickâs Day. My adult children will disperse before the official holiday, but with the darkest days of the pandemic behind us, we have much to celebrate.

Beth Feldman
Beth Feldman has been promoted to director of campaign and affinity groups at Jewish Federation of St. Louis. In this new role, Feldman, who has been with Federation for three years, will oversee all fundraising for the Annual Campaign as well as manage the staff of Womenâs Philanthropy, Professional Society and Young Professionals affinity groups and the corporate partnership program. She attends United Hebrew Congregation.

Stacey Newman will receive an honorary degree from Eden Seminary at its commencement ceremony in May. Newman, a former Missouri state legislator, is the executive director of ProgressWomen, a statewide social justice group focused on justice and equality issues. She attends Central Reform Congregation.
