Developers bid for Louth GAA County Grounds

Developers have shown substantial interest in securing the approximately 10 acre GAA County Grounds in Drogheda. And if the council zone the site for Community/Recreational facilities, it can lead to major community purposes, the Louth County GAA Board state. The lands are in the total ownership of the County Board and as part of their submission to the Draft County Development Plan, they confirm that developers have approached them over the last number of years, seeking to secure the facility. It is submitted that such development would be of major benefit to the greater Drogheda area, both socially and economically given the location of the site relative to the town centre and in addition would be a more beneficial use of the existing infrastructure in this area, they state.
