QUEZON CITY, April 29 (PIA) The Philippines affirms relevant commitments enshrined in the outcome document of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples fully anchored on the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act framework that reinforces the United Nations Declaration on Indigenous Peoples being conscientiously implemented by the Philippines towards the realization of Indigenous Peoples rights, an official of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples said. UNITED NATIONS, April 27 (Xinhua) The president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir, on Tuesday called for international aid to India in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, said his spokesman.
Bozkir was worried about the COVID-19 situation in India, a country that has done so much to ensure the distribution of vaccines to vulnerable countries, said Brenden Varma, the spokesman.

The rights of indigenous people to make decisions about their cultural heritage and traditional way of life is being recognized in a United Nations photo exhibition.
The UN estimates there are some 476 million indigenous people in more than 90 countries around the world who have been denied the opportunity to control their own political, social, economic and cultural development.
