This year, instead of uninterrupted parties, the Carnival
in São Paulo will be marked by the “All for
Vaccines”campaign. Organized by scientific communication

COVID-19 Observatory, NPV/USP, Pro-vaccine Union, among
others -, the initiative will have its name painted on the
renowned “samba runway” at the São Paulo Sambadrome on
Friday, February 12. The conclusion of the artistic
intervention is scheduled for Saturday morning, when
distinguished representatives of samba schools will be
attending the event to represent a very small glimpse of
what would have taken place in the sambadrome at this time

Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School opened the gates for its students welcoming them on a cheerful note. Students came to school in phased slots, scheduled grade wise. The school also held an online international greeting interaction hour with global education partner School of Romania, wherein students and teachers of both schools shared their expressions on coming to school after a year. The global interaction was symbolic of common global enthusiasm among students. Students also penned down their thoughts. The staff remained vigilant over the requisite protocol to be followed by students.

With hashtags #DontBeSilent and #GenderEquality, European embassies in Japan are fanning a growing uproar on social media over sexist remarks uttered by Tokyo Olympics organizing committee chief Yoshiro Mori.
The German Embassy’s official account posted those hashtags on Twitter at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 with an image of more than a dozen staff members raising their left hands in protest.
Mori, a former prime minister, triggered the ruckus by saying that “competitive” women prolong meetings with their need to talk.
The embassies of Finland, Sweden, Ireland and Portugal, as well as the delegation of the European Union to Japan, followed suit with images of their own, also taking their posts to Instagram, Facebook and other social media sites.

Yamunanagar: A daylong workshop on ‘Self-reliant Haryana’ was organised by the Haryana Higher Education Council, Kurukshetra University, Swadeshi Swavalamban Trust and Guru Nanak Khalsa College. Addressing the workshop, Satish Kumar, a senior official of the Swadeshi Self-Reliance said the time had come to inspire young people to become job providers, not just job seekers. KU VC Prof Somnath Sachdeva said such schemes were being formulated in collaboration with the Haryana Higher Education Council so that students studying in colleges and universities could become self-reliant.
‘Golden Victory Torch’ welcomed
Rewari: Sainik School extended a grand welcome to ‘Golden Victory Torch’ when it reached the school campus. The torch event was being organised in order to commemorate 50 years of the glorious win of the Indian Army against Pakistan in 1971. Principal Soumyabrata Dhar said the school staffers were feeling proud to become a part of this event.
