The thing about being a standup comedian is that you can never turn off that part of your brain, not even when you are trying to kill yourself. Margaret Cho learned this in 2013 when she attempted suicide in a hotel room, using a shower curtain rail. “It started bending and I was like: Oh shit, I’m too fat to kill myself, so I had to get down,” says Cho. “I thought: I’ll go on a diet and I’ll try again when I reach my goal weight, which means I’m never going to kill myself, because I’ll never reach my goal weight.”

The streaming service teamed up with the Tennis Channel to highlight the most popular songs by Australian artists, in conjunction with the first Grand Slam event of the tennis season

Just in time for the Australian Open the first Grand Slam event of the tennis season streaming service Pandora has released a list of the most “thumbed up” songs by Australian artists on its platform. The new data is part of a collaboration between Pandora and the Tennis Channel, timed to the start of the Australian Open tournament, which runs from February 8th to February 21st.
While many performers have struggled to find work during the pandemic, two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes has maintained a relatively busy schedule.
She filmed the Hallmark Channel Christmas movie “One Royal Holiday,” leads the R&H Goes Pop and R&H At Home video series offering new takes on Rodgers and Hammerstein songs, and she had a featured role in the online “A Killer Party: the Musical.”
Osnes even found a way to do a few concerts at safe distances, as she will next weekend when she returns to Sarasota for two outdoor performances at Asolo Repertory Theatre, where she starred a decade ago in the pre-Broadway run of “Bonnie & Clyde.”
