Kroger denied gas station on site of new store in St Clair Shores

CLAIR SHORES Stating that there had been “ample opportunity” for Kroger to plan for a gas station on the site of its newest store on Harper Avenue at Nine Mile Road before another owner built one on the corner, City Council voted 6-0 to deny site plan approval for a Kroger gas station on the same property. Mayor Kip Walby told Kroger’s representative at the April 19 City Council meeting that, when the company was in front of City Council in September 2017, city officials asked if they would take over the then-vacant gas station on the corner of Nine Mile Road and Harper Avenue.

Nine Mile Road Traffic To Be Shifted Between Navy Federal Way, Allegheny Avenue : NorthEscambia com

April 24, 2021 The Nine Mile Road westbound travel lane between Allegheny Avenue and Navy Federal Way will be shifted to the newly constructed westbound outside lane the week of Sunday, April 25. The traffic shift will allow crews to complete the new median and inside eastbound left turn lanes. All construction activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.

Escambia County: U.S. 98 (State Road (S.R.) 30) Pensacola Bay Bridge Replacement - The intersection of North 17th Avenue and Bayfront Parkway will remain closed until spring 2021 as construction continues on the new 17th Avenue interchange. The Visitor’s Center and adjacent boat launch remain accessible from 17th Avenue. Also, the ramp from 17th Avenue to East Gregory Street remains open. Eastbound drivers on Bayfront Parkway should use North 14th Avenue and Cervantes Street (U.S. 90) as a detour route.

The chase started when police received word that someone in the suspect vehicle had fired a gun at another vehicle traveling behind them. The incident, described in a police report as a case of road rage, occurred at 2:05 p.m. April 12 in the area of Woodward Heights Boulevard and Couzens Avenue. The victims were two Hazel Park men, ages 50 and 29. They were not injured. The shots were allegedly fired in their direction but did not strike them or their vehicle.
