All tornado watches have been dropped but severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect for Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore and Sequoyah County until after 9 p.m. With the continued rainfall all day, areas across eastern Oklahoma are seeing flooding concerns.
9:30 p.m. Update
The severe storm system with a tornado warning moved out of LeFlore County Wednesday night and into Arkansas. The system with a tornado warning is moving east, headed toward the Oklahoma-Arkansas border around Fort Smith. It moved to Cameron around 9:14 p.m.; Rock Island around 9:19 p.m.; Hackett around 9:26 p.m.; Midland around 9:33 p.m.; New Jenny Lind at 9:39 p.m.
Sen. Thompson to speak at SSC Commencement May 7

Seminole State College will hold its’ 88th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 7, for students completing coursework requirements for their degree programs.
Those graduating, along with faculty and professional staff, will participate in the 10:30 a.m. ceremony in the Raymond Harber Field House. While additional guests will not be permitted to attend, the program will be live-streamed. There will also be a special “Celebration on the Lawn” held outdoors immediately following the ceremony for graduates and their families. The event will include food, drinks and a variety of fun photo opportunities to commemorate the occasion. These activities will be spread out across the campus grounds, weather permitting.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 445,963 total cases of COVID-19 in the state on Wednesday, an increase of 1,675 over the past week.
The state s total number of new cases in the past week represents a 30% drop from the week before.
Tulsa County data is now being updated on a weekly basis, with numbers reflecting the previous Sunday through Saturday. At last count, Tulsa County had 73,773 cases, up 428 over the past week. Tulsa County s total is second to Oklahoma County s 85,619.
The state s seven-day average of new cases, which shows the trend in infections, was 239 as of Wednesday, down 29.7% over the past week. The record of 4,256 was set Jan. 13. It has remained under 500 since March 17 if roughly 1,300 backlogged cases added April 7 are excluded.

David Hill was elected to serve as the principal chief of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in December 2019. In this conversation, he addresses economic development and economic issues that are important to the tribe.
Q: What are the areas of business development your tribe is focusing on for the future?
A: The Muscogee Nation will be focusing on many different areas in the future. We intend on expanding our current operations and looking at opportunities in property management and specialty trades. We are also nearing completion of a meat processing facility in Glenpool. This facility will promote long-term stability in food sovereignty and security. The USDA inspected facility is expected to employ up to 25 people and offer meat processing and retail meats to the public, as well as the tribe.
