OCALA, Fla. – A Florida woman arrested on a disorderly intoxication charge claims the only reason the cops were called while she was at a hotel pool was that the manager saw her in a bikini and was “jealous that her body looked good,” according to the Ocala Police Department.
Records show the manager at the Country Inn & Suites spotted 42-year-old Melody Carr in her two-piece bathing suit at the hotel’s pool on May 3 and since she didn’t recall her ever checking into the hotel, she asked her for her room number.

The crash was investigated by Ocala Police Sgt. Dan E. Wright. He interviewed Edwards, 41, of Ocala, who reported that he was driving an older model Dodge Caravan on the afternoon of Nov. 12. He stopped at a store and he and his passenger, Derrick Glen Brown, 57, also of Ocala, went inside and purchased two beers.
Edwards said they did not open the beers, and police confirmed that. He said he was driving north on Northwest First Avenue and his cellphone was on his lap. The man said the phone started ringing and he went to pick it up.
The phone fell from his lap and dropped between the door and his seat, Edwards said. He said he leaned to his left to try and get the phone. Edwards said he heard a thud noise. Looking up, Edwards realized his vehicle had struck a fence.
Love for Lawson pink yard signs have become a fixture around town and part of a communitywide effort to help Lawson s family.
The Christmas tree, made of strings of pink lights attached to an 8-foot pole, has been in the front yard of Kelly and Jose Juarez s southeast Ocala home since Christmas.
The Juarezes, parents of Lawson s mother, Jessica Armstrong, have been caring for Peyton while her parents stayed at the hospital with her sister. At night Peyton would cry and say, Why is my sister so sick? said Kelly Juarez.
Peyton said she wants the tree to remain up and lighted until Lawson is home and feeling better.
2 Florida Deputies Pause Their Wedding Photoshoot to Help Save a Man Hit by a Car
Two Florida police officers have been commended by their department for halting their wedding photo shoot to render aid to a victim of a road traffic accident.
Detention Deputy Taylor Rafferty and her now-husband, Deputy Chris Rafferty, were taking group photos with their wedding party on Dec. 12, 2020, when a man was hit by a car on the square in Downtown Ocala, Florida. The Raffertys, both law enforcement officers with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), didn’t hesitate to halt proceedings and step in, even though they were off the clock.
