Forecasts are calling for the possibility of severe weather throughout Alabama this afternoon.
An area along a line south and west from Troy to Montgomery to Selma to Tuscaloosa is is an area of moderate risk, a 4 out of 5 risk according to the National Weather Service rating, with 5 being the highest risk. Theses areas can see possible tornadoes, winds up to 80 miles per hour and gold ball sized hail.
The remainder of the the state is in an enhanced level of threat off 3 out of 5.. Tornadoes, winds of up to 70 miles per hour and quarter-sized hail are possible.
The threat is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for northern parts of Alabama including Tuscaloosa and Gadsden and 6 to 10 p.m. for central Alabama including the Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery counties.
