MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Leave it to one courageous woman to finally make Miami Beach’s iconic beach accessible to all.
Miami Beach will be the first beach in South Florida to have permanent beach access for people with disabilities all thanks to The Sabrina Cohen Foundation.
“It’s kind of like putting a wheelchair in front of a staircase,” explains founder Sabrina Cohen about how inaccessible the beaches have been for decades. “You just don’t go up the stairs.” Cohen has made it her mission to give those with disabilities the ocean access they all deserve, and her mission is personal.

The county approved the toughest fertilizer law in the State of Florida.
The new ordinance bans the use of fertilizers during the rainy season and will hopefully help the bay eventually bounce back to what it once was.
The Miami-Dade County Commission voted 12 to 1, approving the ordinance on a second reading after the impassioned pleas by many residents who understand that fertilizer runoff is one of the main culprits that is killing Biscayne Bay.
“We have the data, we have the science, now it’s time to do the job,” Albert Gomez with Biscayne Bay Health Summit Coalition said during the commission meeting.

George Floyd, the hammer of justice sounded loudly on all three counts he faced.
The video of Chauvin’s neck on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes was damning enough. There was more, though. Throughout the ordeal, the smug, superior expression on Chauvin’s face told volumes about the disregard he had for Floyd’s life.

This wasn’t a routine arrest over Floyd’s passing of a counterfeit $20 bill. Chauvin’s action that day was racism at its diabolical worst.
