In 1884, a young Hartford woman named Ada Brown was murdered in her home. It made national news, but Ada’s story faded into obscurity. This hour, we learn why a history class at University of Saint Joseph spent the past semester digging into her story, 136 years later.
And we learn what it meant to one of Ada’s descendants.

American states rapid accommodations for 2020 voters in the pandemic vastly accelerated their long trend toward more mail-in and in-person early voting options.
The voter-friendly adjustments reinforce citizens voting franchise by making it easier for millions of citizens to vote.
But expanded early voting options also give voters ample time to peruse the candidates and measures on their ballots, and that adds quality and credibility to our elections.
In Wisconsin, where the pandemic sparked a groundswell of mail-in and early voting, for example, voters were looking for options to election day at the polls, said Eileen Newcomer, voter education manager for the Wisconsin League of Women Voters.

Duane Donald Gervais, 57, received the gift of being released of his physical and mental bonds on his birthday, Dec. 16, 2020 in Billings, Montana of complications due to severe epilepsy.
Duane was born on Dec. 16, 1963 in Lewistown, the son of Donald and Eileen (Heck) Gervais. He had many challenges in his life beginning at birth. He lived in Lewistown until the late 1970s when he moved to Helena to take advantage of the opportunities available in the community for special needs people. While in Helena he was involved in Special Olympics, Farm and the Dell, attending school and day programs. Duane also had the honor of dining with Governor Marc Racicot.
