He was also an internationally-renowned photographer and photo-journalist who covered major events and issues worldwide for several overseas publications, as well as contributing to Irish media, particularly in the tourism sector. Known familiarly as Willie, he was born to William and Bridget White on 26th November 1932, the youngest son in a family of three boys and two girls.
