EASTON – The Easton Lions Club is teaming up with two local businesses to provide free live music to the public.
The Easton Live! Music Series was launched in February. The artists perform at Shovel Town on Tuesdays and Mockingbird Music on Fridays, but no audience is allowed. The concerts are filmed live by Easton Community Access Television (ECAT) and streamed live on the Easton Lions Facebook page, Easton Lions Events – Music, Art & Entertainment page, the Shovel Town Brewery Facebook page and will also be re-broadcast on ECAT.
The idea came after the Lions’ annual musical performance was cancelled in December due to COVID along with the club’s Holiday Festival, Lions Club member Mark Vinocoor said
The death on Friday (5th) of Hollywood legend, Christopher Plummer, was met with world over with great sadness.
One of the most iconic actors of his time, Plummer was a Canadian whose career spanned seven decades.
While his most famous film and stage roles included the likes of Sound of Music , Othello and The Man Who Would Be King what s perhaps less known is how the screen legend once appeared in a TV ad in Enniscorthy for George Killian s Irish Red Lager.
The video of the ad is still available to view on YouTube and features Plummer offering up a slightly Irish accent as he proclaims the virtues of George Killian s approach to lager creation.

I have become soft. Some may say, weak. It’s OK: I have come to embrace and accept that.
