Independent: Mike Rees Independent candidate, Mike Rees, said one his biggest concern was the financial situation of the force in Wiltshire – often dubbed as one of the least funded in England. He said that he will lobby the government for increased funding to increase police numbers in the county. “Salisbury needs a Police station and custody unit. POCAHONTAS, Ark. (KAIT) - We told you recently how White River Medical Center is balancing the high demand for health care workers, especially nurses.
St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center is dealing with a similar struggle.
Chief Nursing Officer Sydney Stevens says theyâve consistently had around 10 to 12 openings for nurses at the hospital throughout the pandemic.
âThe nursing shortage in rural areas has increased exponentially,â Stevens said. âNationwide, thereâs about a 9.9 percent [vacancy rate], and thatâs for small hospitals as well as large ones. For us, itâs about 17 or 18 percent.â

While some schools have been struggling with online learning for a variety of reasons, Five Rivers TIA Primary School in Arouca has thrived and is ready for when the new school term begins on Monday.
Principal Saleeka Mohammed-Ali says the system is not perfect but credits the school’s relative success with pennacool.com, an online educational platform, for preparing teachers and students for the transition to online learning, as well as the dedication of her proactive teachers. In addition, for the past several years she instructed teachers to incorporate technology in the delivery of their lessons in at least one session of the term.
