Coats donated to all students at Tendoy Elementary
POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - Children in the Pocatello area will be warm for the next few months.
Operation Warm partnered with Mountain America Credit Union to deliver brand-new winter coats on Tuesday to every student attending Tendoy Elementary School.
Tendoy is a Title I school that provides pre-K-5 education to 225 students. Students in the district’s Online Learning Program also received a coat. It’s made my day as I’ve walked down the hall with groups of children, said Principal Janice Nelson. They could hardly contain their excitement. They don t get it very often and to have it be so beautiful and warm and just for them to be able to pick out the color has just been awesome.

SAVVY VETERANS: Both of these teams have relied heavily on their seniors this year. Damen Thacker, Scott Blakney, Gabe Quinnett and Ja’Vary Christmas have collectively accounted for 60 percent of Idaho’s scoring this season. For Eastern Washington, Tanner Groves, Kim Aiken Jr. and Jacob Davison have scored 55 percent of the team’s points this season, including 61 percent of all Eagles points over their last five.

BOTTOM LINE: Weber State looks to extend Idaho’s conference losing streak to 10 games. Idaho’s last Big Sky win came against the Idaho State Bengals 80-76 on March 7, 2020. Weber State came up short in a 77-72 game at Southern Utah on Saturday.
VETERAN PRESENCE: Senior leadership has been on display for both teams this year. Damen Thacker, Scott Blakney, Gabe Quinnett, DeAndre Robinson and Ja’Vary Christmas have collectively accounted for 72 percent of Idaho’s scoring this season. For Weber State, Isiah Brown, Cody Carlson, Zahir Porter and Michal Kozak have combined to account for 61 percent of all Weber State scoring.

The Iowa State Cyclones (4-3, 1-0 Big 12) entered the season at No. 15 but already have three losses and, now, are receiving just 15 voting points, which puts them outside the Top 25. Things could be looking up, though, as the Cyclones try to extend their current winning streak to three games when they take on the Kansas State Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m. ET in Ames, Iowa.
The Cyclones’ losses aren’t too bad one came against the No. 5 South Carolina Gamecocks and another was to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, who have been ranked as high as No. 22 and received votes every week this season. The third loss was a two-point heartbreaker versus intrastate rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes, who have a winning culture and more talent than anticipated.
