52-week high: Stock market update: 126 stocks hit 52-week high on NSE

Explore Now Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 54.75 points down at 15064.20 on Friday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters. Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Ports & SEZ, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Century Enka, Eveready Industries, Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Overseas Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, SBI Cards and Payment Services, Repco Home Finance and Tata Power. Overall, 17 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 33 were trading in red in the afternoon trade. In the Nifty 50 index, UPL , GAIL, NTPC, BPCL and Coal India Ltd were among top gainers, while Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and ICICI Bank were trading in red.

FMCG shares slide

FMCG stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index falling 182.73 points or 1.44% at 12525.36 at 13:48 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd (down 6.59%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd (down 6.23%),Waterbase Ltd (down 4.29%),ITC Ltd (down 4.24%),Prabhat Dairy Ltd (down 2.42%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd (down 1.72%), Emami Ltd (down 1.61%), Eveready Industries India Ltd (down 1.51%), Hindustan Foods Ltd (down 1.33%), and Marico Ltd (down 1.31%). On the other hand, ADF Foods Ltd (up 5.93%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd (up 3.65%), and Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (up 2.91%) moved up.

FMCG stocks edge lower

FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 47.13 points or 0.37% at 12727.43 at 13:48 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, DFM Foods Ltd (down 4.22%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd (down 2.16%),Prataap Snacks Ltd (down 1.91%),Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd (down 1.83%),Britannia Industries Ltd (down 1.66%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Godrej Agrovet Ltd (down 1.5%), Future Consumer Ltd (down 1.25%), Heritage Foods Ltd (down 1.25%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 1.2%), and Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (down 0.82%). On the other hand, Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd (up 8%), Eveready Industries India Ltd (up 5.54%), and Globus Spirits Ltd (up 5.46%) turned up.
