Time for a quick round-up of additional theme park news from around the world over the past week.
SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating Cinco De Mayo at its Seven Seas Food Festival on Fridays through Sundays, April 30-May 9, as well as on Wednesday, May 5. The park will roll out Fiesta in the Street in Wild Arctic Plaza, with Mexican flavors served at participating food stands, including drunken shrimp tostadas and barbacoa tacos, plus beer and cocktails.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will open two live shows beginning Friday, May 28: the Turn It Up! ice show Thursdays through Mondays in the Moroccan Palace Theater and Cirque Electric Fridays through Mondays in the Stanleyville Theater. The shows will be modified for Covid safety standards and seating capacity will be limited.

ORLANDO, Fla. – SeaWorld Orlando said Friday that it will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo a little early during its Seven Seas Food Festival later this month.
Beginning April 30, guests can partake in the Mexican-themed celebration with new items added to the Seven Seas Food Festival’s menu, live music, a socially distant DJ dance party and fiesta near the theme park’s Wild Artic Plaza. SeaWorld said all the live entertainment will be happening daily beginning at noon.
SeaWorld San Diego announced today that it will reopen its rides and roller coasters as a theme park on
Monday, April 12! Under California’s theme park regulations, the park and rides will have limited capacity, health and safety measures in place, including markings for physical distancing in queue lines and modified seating to maintain physical distancing and hand sanitizer available at the entrance and exit of all rides. SeaWorld will continue to operate with enhanced health and safety protocols for cleaning and sanitizing, physical distancing, face covering requirements, and temperature screenings. To give guests ample space for a physically distanced visit, the number of date-specific tickets and reservations available each day are limited and must be purchased online and in advance of each visit to manage capacity.
Rides Return to SeaWorld San Diego on April 12

Another California theme park has confirmed its reopening date. SeaWorld San Diego, which had resumed its zoo exhibits earlier this year, will begin reopening its rides on Monday, April 12. We re delighted to bring back some of the best thrill and family rides that San Diego has to offer. Our guests have been eager for SeaWorld to re-open rides, and we are looking forward to providing these exciting experiences to our guests, Park President Marilyn Hannes said. Safety is our number one priority, and as we’ve been fortunate to already be open and operating as a zoo, we’ve already implemented significant safety enhancements for our guests.

ORLANDO, Fla – SeaWorld Orlando is celebrating Autism Acceptance Month with the debut of the Sesame Street character, Julia.
Beginning April 2, guests are invited to say hello to Julia while also taking physically distanced photos in the park’s Sesame Street Land.

Officials described Julia as “a 4-year-old with autism who loves to draw and play with her friends Elmo and Abby Cadabby. The character shows kids that everyone is a little different but share the same joy of play and friendship.”
