Telegram is launching a new tool that lets users import their chat history from WhatsApp to make it easier to switch to its platform.
With the ongoing controversy surrounding WhatsApp’s new privacy policy, Telegram has seen an influx of new users. It seems that Telegram is now looking to attract even more users with this new feature.
The tool is currently only available on iOS and doesnât seem to be live on Android yet. Itâs worth noting that users can also import chat histories from Line and KakaoTalk.

WhatsApp users, please take note!
It has been reported that some WhatsApp users would find themselves unable to send messages starting 1 January 2021.
iPhone and Android users will need to take these steps in ensuring that they can continue to send ‘Happy New Year’ messages after the clock strikes midnight.

According to Birmingham Live, the popular messaging services will stop working on certain old models unless they upgrade their phones to the latest operating system.
Apart from that, it is also said that the messenger app will no longer be supported by certain smartphone models that do not run on iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems, starting January 2021. This includes the iPhone 4 and all previous models.
WhatsApp will stop working on millions of smartphones from New Year’s Eve as the messaging app phases out older devices.
Users of iPhones running software older than iOS 9 and Android devices running Android 4.0.3, although the phones can be updated with more recent software to keep WhatsApp running in some cases.
The move effectively means that the iPhone 4 and older iPhones will no longer be able to run WhatsApp, but devices such as the iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6S can all be updated with iOS 9.
