Convicted Felon Arrested For Firearm Possession

Canyon News SANTA MONICA Lt. Rudy Flores indicated in a press release to Canyon News that on Monday, May 17, at 12:52 a.m. officers from the Santa Monica Fire Department were dispatched to the AM PM Market at 332 Pico Blvd. The call was in regards to a male who was spotted carrying a firearm in his waistband. The male was accompanied by a female. When officers arrived, they witnessed two individuals matching the  description of the involved subjects, exit the store. The individuals were safely detained outside of the establishment and officers disarmed the male, identified as Skler Deon Darby, 31, from San Bernardino. Darby had a .45 caliber handgun holstered inside his waistband.

The male was accompanied by a female. When officers arrived on scene, they witnessed two individuals matching the description of the involved subjects, exit the store. The individuals were safely detained outside of the establishment and officers were able to quickly disarm the male, identified as Skyler Deon Darby, a 31-year-old Black male from San Bernardino. Darby had a .45 caliber handgun holstered inside his waistband. The female with Darby was interviewed and released. A computer check revealed Darby is a convicted felon. Darby was arrested and booked for the following: Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm, and Possession of Ammunition when Prohibited to Possess.Tags :Crime WatchNews

Suspect used handicapped hostage as human shield, sheriff s office says Alanea Cremen Replay Video UP NEXT More details have been released regarding a domestic dispute, hostage situation and deadly shooting that happened in Calaveras County last week.  Sergeant Greg Stark with the Calaveras County Sheriff s Office said in a press release on Monday, May 10 that the incident began just after 10:30 p.m. on May 6. Multiple people called for help, telling dispatch that a man had pointed a gun at a woman at the Sierra Inn Motel in San Andreas.  When deputies arrived, they found out the couple had already left. Deputies were eventually able to track down the man and woman after checking several places around the area for nearly an hour.
